The festive season is officially here, and The Victoria Centre remains your ultimate destination for all your Christmas shopping needs. Our wonderful tenants are here, business as usual, with an incredible selection of gifts, fashion, dining, and seasonal treats to make your holiday shopping a breeze.

But that’s not all! This year, we’re adding a touch of magic with plenty of exciting events to share with your friends and family. From dazzling light switch-ons and enchanting festive trails to joyful carols and creative crafts, there’s something for everyone. Get ready to immerse yourself in the holiday spirit and create unforgettable memories right here at The Victoria Centre!

Southend BID Switch on Day - Saturday November 16th 

(Activities in The Victoria Centre 10am-5pm)

Kick off the festive season with a bang at Southend BID’s Switch On Day! From 10am to 5pm, the centre will be brimming with festive activities leading up to the grand lights switch-on at 6 PM outside The Victoria Centre on the High Street. Here's what to expect:

  • Artisan Christmas Market. Discover one-of-a-kind gifts crafted by local artisans.
  • Festive Busking. Enjoy heartwarming holiday tunes from talented local musicians.
  • Follow the Bean Walk. Take part in our enchanting beanstalk-themed festive trail, an adventure for all ages!

The High Street will come alive with children’s rides, a visit from Father Christmas at The Forum, and an entertainment-packed main stage. It’s the perfect way to dive into the Christmas spirit, all thanks to Southend BID!

Festive Weekends to Remember

Make sure you’re ready for an entire month of weekend festivities leading up to Christmas, each with its own special touch of Christmas magic.

November 30th & December 1st
We’re starting the festive weekends with a bang!>

  • Big Up Southend. Our local Artisan Market will fill the centre with unique crafts and handmade treasures on Saturday.
  • Carols for Christmas. On Sunday at 12pm, enjoy a soulful performance from the Interplay Jazz Quartet that’s sure to put you in the Christmas mood.

December 7th & 8th
The magic continues with family fun and beautiful carols.

  • The Christmas Polar Bear. Visit this interactive wonder on Saturday from 11am to 3pm.
  • Community Choirs. On Sunday from 12pm to 3pm, local choirs and groups will delight visitors with festive songs and performances.

December 14th & 15th
Get crafty and celebrate the spirit of Christmas!

  • Big Up Southend’s Christmas Special. Our Artisan Market returns on Saturday, along with a special adult wreath-making craft session from 12pm to 2pm.
  • Carols for Christmas. Sunday will feature more enchanting performances by local choirs and community groups from 12pm to 3pm.

December 21st
On the final weekend before Christmas, the magic peaks with our FREE Christmas Grotto from 11am to 3pm. Bring the little ones to visit Father Christmas and receive a free gift, making it a day to remember!

Guess the Baubles, Win Big

Christmas at The Victoria Centre wouldn’t be complete without a touch of competition. Get involved in our exciting “How Many Baubles on the Tree?” contest. Guess the number of baubles on our spectacular Christmas tree for a chance to win a Victoria Christmas Hamper worth over £500!

Submit your guess either through social media or in person by dropping your answer into the box by the tree. The winner will be revealed on Friday, December 20th. Don’t miss out on your chance to win!
