Things to Do in Southend This Autumn 2025: A Victoria Centre Guide

Summer’s over, but Southend doesn’t slow down. Autumn brings crisp sea air, fiery sunsets and a line-up of events that prove there’s plenty to look forward to. From family days out to rainy-day plans, here’s everything happening in Southend this season.
Outdoor Adventures & Autumn Walks
Stroll the Pier at Twilight
As the daylight fades early in autumn, Southend Pier’s magic grows. Grab a hot chocolate, walk the full stretch, and watch as lamps twinkle one by one along the railings. The quiet and expanse of the sea make it a perfect backdrop for conversation or a moment to just breathe.
Cycle or Walk the Seafront to Thorpe Bay
Hit the seafront path heading east toward Thorpe Bay. The coastline is less crowded this time of year, and you’ll catch sightings of migrating birds on low tide. Stop off at one of the sheltered benches, pull on a jumper, and take in the estuary breeze.
Priory Park & Prittlewell Priory
Priory Park is one of Southend’s most historic green spaces, with wide lawns, leafy walks and a playground for little ones. At its heart sits Prittlewell Priory, a 12th-century former monastery turned museum, where you can step inside and explore centuries of local history. It’s a perfect mix of fresh air and culture, all in one spot.
Two Tree Island Nature Escape
Just north of the main coastline lies Two Tree Island - tranquil, with winding paths and birdlife. If you’re trying to get away from city noise but still be within reach, this is a great option for a mellow afternoon walk
